As Peer Specialists, we are your peers and have had to recover from our own mental illness.

This includes some of the tough times stemming from our affliction, just as you have.

We know that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.

What is a Peer Specialist?

A Peer Specialist is an individual who has in the past or is currently receiving mental health services.  The individual has been successful in their recovery and can offer you a helping hand.

What can a Peer Specialist do for me?

A Peer Specialist can offer support and guidance on your recovery path, act as a link to community resources, assist you with daily activities, and help you create person centered plans and accomplish goals.

Will a Peer Case Specialist take the place of my regular Case Manager?

No, a Peer Specialist would work in collaboration with you and your Case Manager, enabling you to be in a less restrictive environment.  Sometimes people find it helpful to work with other people who have experienced similar problems that they have.
